PALONTARAQ.ID – This is presentation for my students in introducing the short history of Pangkep Regency.
Presenter 1:
Pangkep Regency is One of Regency in the Scope of the South Sulawesi Region, Located about 55 kilometres north of Macassar City, the Capital of South Sulawesi.
Presenter 2:
Actually, Pangkep is an acronym for Pangkajene and Islands, two historical units of territory, namely “Regentschappen Onderafdeeling Pangkajene” combined with the area “Onderafdeeling Islands”.

Presenter 3:
Currently, Pangkep Regency consists of 13 sub-districts with three-dimensional characteristics: lowland areas such as Pangkajene, Bungoro, Labakkang, Ma’rang, Segeri, and Mandalle, highland (mountainous) areas such as Balocci and Tondong Tallasa, and island regions, namely Liukang Tupabbiring, Liukang Tupabbiring Utara, Liukang Kalmas, and Liukang Tangaya. Now, I am in here, in the Minasatene District area.
I am Student at The Islamic Boarding School of IMMIM Girls where I study within the scope of the Biraeng Village, Minasatene District. In the Minasatene area, there are many tourist objects, both natural and prehistoric tourism.
Presenter 4:
The Pangkep area was formerly the territory of the Siang Kingdom, one of the oldest kingdoms in the peninsula of South Sulawesi, and at an even more ancient period, the Pangkep area was formerly the area where “To Alla” (Manusia Gua) lived in prehistoric times. In the area of Biraeng Village, Minasatene District, we can see traces of this prehistory to this day.
Presenter 5:
A special gratitude, for us students can see ancient traces in the Pangkep area. Here, besides being able to cool the views of the beautiful rice fields and mountains, we are also treated to an exotic track record of the end. Truly, a tourist destination that is second to none. (*)
